Our Mission
The mission of the McLean County Soil and Water Conservation District Foundation is to enhance, protect and promote the positive image of McLean County agricultural resources through conservation. Educating the next generation of landowners, farmers and conservationist alike of the importance of healthy McLean County soils.
Who We Are
The McLean County Soil and Water Conservation District Foundation was established in 2024. A non-profit 501c3 organization that accepts contributions to further promote the positive image of Agriculture through conservation education. The organization consists of a board of directors and is administered by the McLean County Soil and Water Conservation District.
History of McLean County SWCD Foundation
On May 8, 1942 the McLean County SWCD was organized, and an election of five directors was held. Since then the SWCD has served as the local voice with a McLean County Farmer and Landowner lead board of directors. In 2015, the Jim Rutherford Conservation Scholarship was formed to assist outstanding agricultural students with a commitment to soil and water conservation in McLean County. The scholarship was made possible by generous donations from local donors and an annual golf outing. The McLean County SWCD board of directors saw an opportunity to expand on these efforts to create the McLean County SWCD Foundation, established in 2024. The McLean County SWCD Foundation is a a 501c(3) non-profit that focuses on conservation education, scholarships. and preserving the precious natural resources of McLean County.

We are a Non-Profit 501c3 organization. Checks are payable to McLean County SWCD Foundation.
